February 2019
A fine selection of ornaments.
Framed finishes - I believe the one of the left is Herringbone Happenings and the sanddollar is Beachcomber's Booty, a class that was offered at a MAR Smart Day by Ann Strite-Kurz.
And here's a lovely finish of Marie Campbell's necklace designed for the MAR Get Stitching Gettysbug Seminar.
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to the Oatlands Chapter of the EGA's blog.
It's been a while since Donna L. posted and now we're going to play catch up.
Back in January a new board was installed. Kathy gratefully and gracefully ended her two year term and now we have the two Donnas as co-presidents.
We had a lovely potluck luncheon and a wonderful presentation on Slovakia's Embroidery Traditions by Inez Giles, Ph.D.
As usual on our Saturday meetings, there were lots of beautiful pieces showing off the talent of our Chapter!

Oatlands 35th Anniversary Sampler
There's one stitch that's an artifact to the right of the 1983. That - doesn't belong. They should all be DMC 3816.
Also windows on the left wing of the carriage house should match the spacing of the right wing. Oops
I did change my house color from 932 to 926. The 926 is a better match to the current color of the carriage house I have no clue what the color was in 1983.
That's it so far. But who knows what else I'll find...

I'd register in a heartbeat if I wasn't already going to Seminar in Louisville. Terrific opportunity!

Camp Wannastitch
Once again Oatlands has quite a few members at Camp. We thank Ann W. for her dedication to this wonderful event for the Mid-Atlantic EGA.
We've run the weather gamut. Nice and sunny. Foggy and warm. Rain and more run. And here comes the cold.
We laughed and stitched and shared. We're inspired by all the terrific stitching and beading. We've stayed up late, gotten up early. Drank lots of coffee. Had some fabulous food.
Just remember- things said at Camp, stay at Camp.

Holiday Luncheon
Saturday was our Holiday Luncheon at the Club in Leesburg. We enjoyed not freezing in our nearly balmy December weather. Had a fantastic meal. And listened to a fascinating lecture on sampler collecting. We shared our IFFs, exchanged ornaments, voted in a new board, and approved our budget.
Thanks to all our volunteers who make all this happen! We can't do it without a lot of help from many people.

January Class
We'll be making this fabulous beaded tape measure. Plus one of our favorites - potluck involving lots of talented cooks.
